Start hourly invoiceAbout Bill your hours without a spreadsheet
An hourly invoice bills for time worked rather than a fixed project price — quantity is hours (or fractions of an hour, like 2.5), and the rate is your hourly fee. Because different tasks are often billed at different rates (design work vs. revisions, regular hours vs. rush), each line item can carry its own quantity and rate, and the line total and grand total are computed automatically so a mis-typed multiplication never reaches the client.
Add one line item per rate or per work type. Enter hours in the quantity field (2.5 is valid) and your rate per hour in the rate field — the line amount and running total update as you type.
- Hours worked per task or per day, not just a single lump total
- Your hourly rate, and a different rate per line if it varies by task
- A short description of what the hours were spent on
- The billing period covered (e.g. "July 1–15, 2026")
- Total hours and total amount due, clearly separated from any flat fees
If you track time in a separate app, copy the daily/weekly totals in as line items (e.g. "Design — 6.5 hrs") rather than one lump hour count, so the client can see how the hours broke down.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I bill fractional hours like 2.5 or 0.25?
Yes — the quantity field accepts decimals, so 2.5 hours or 0.25 hours both calculate correctly.
Can I mix hourly and flat-fee line items on one invoice?
Yes. Each line item has its own quantity and rate, so an hourly line and a flat one-off fee can sit side by side and both roll into the same total.
Should I show a timesheet breakdown or just the total hours?
For ongoing clients, breaking hours down by day or task builds trust and reduces disputes — use one line item per day or task rather than a single combined hour count.
Is my invoice data uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything — the form, the PDF generation, and the saved copies — runs locally in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server.
Is this template really free to use?
Yes. There's no signup, no watermark, and no limit on how many invoices you download.
